Born in Jerusalem in 1990, Bashar Hamad lives in the village of Selwad in Ramallah.  Bashar graduated from Jerusalem University in 2013 with a degree in Computer Science.  After looking for work for 9 months, Bashar began to lose hope in his ability to find a job in his area of specialization.

When he heard about the Youth Employment Program he registered electronically, and was selected by the Badawy IT company to work as a trainee. The skills Bashar gained during his training period equipped him to find permanent employment with the Beyra Local Council, where he was employed as a network security employee; he became responsible for network security and repairs and computer maintenance.

Bashar’s experience has given him a sense of achievement, as well as satisfaction that he is an active member serving his community and environment. On his experience, Bashar says, “I wouldn’t have been able to find an appropriate job for myself had it not been for the exposure and training I received through the program.”
